Remember when AMC and Renault teamed up together to try and save AMC's bacon? AMC had fallen on hard times in 1979, and in the mid-1980s AMC teamed up with Renault to try to resurrect its sales. Unfortunately, that plan backfired, and in 1987 AMC was bought out by Chrysler. Rebranded as Eagle, AMC's Alliance models initially continued to be sold. A prime is this Eagle Premier ES, a low-mile survivor 1989 model that is in great, survivor shape. Find it here on eBay in Cream Ridge, New Jersey, with a Buy-It-Now price of $2,100. Introduced in September 1987 as a 1988 model, the Eagle Premier was derived from the Renault Medallion. Sold from September 1987 to December 1991 (as a 1992 model), the Premier was never a sales success and was replaced by the Vision in 1993. It's hard to believe this next statement, but in a few years it'll be 90 years since the decade of the 1930s. The 1930s were a rough time for the United States with the Great Depression and Prohibition era taking place, but I will say the automobiles during that time were fine. Though I usually don't prefer products from the Blue Oval, this 1938 Ford sedan is definitely a car I would drive, and this car is said to be a largely original survivor. When it comes to iconic movies, few are better than the classic 1980 film, Blues Brothers . Featuring the late great John Belushi and Dan Akroyd, Blues Brothers featured the most car wrecks ever shown in movies. Arguably the most iconic car of the movie was a retired Mount Prospect, Illinois police car: a 1974 Dodge Monaco four-door sedan. While this 1974 Dodge Monaco is a civilian model, the seller recommends converting it into a Bluesmobile. Find it here on Craigslist in Manheim, Pennsylvania, with an asking price of $13,500.  For 1974, Dodge redesigned the Monaco for its third generation, and came in coupe, hardtop coupe, four-door sedan, four-door hardtop, and four-door station wagon. If you haven't been paying attention to the latest trends of Hollywood, the ongoing theme of interest is the 1980s. The 1980s have been the inspiration for television shows such as Stranger Things and The Goldbergs have manage to take the 1980s and make that decade actually cooler than it really was. The decade I'm hoping television returns to at some point however is the 1960s; Mad Men did the overall best representation of the 1960s, but that's the only show I can think of that focuses on the 1960s. For the past few years now, Australian have piqued my curiousity; Forza Horizon 3 features a part of its game where players can find cars in barns around Australia, including a Holden HQ Monaro GTS 350 , while one of my favorite car shows of all time, Roadkill, did an entire episode in the "Land Down Under" , featuring one of my favorite hot rods of all time: a 2006 Holden HSV VE Clubsport R8 powered by a Sonny Leonard 727 cubic inch big block making 1,275 horsepower. Australia, much like the United States, has a mind built for speed, and the way they build their muscle cars almost puts the United States to shame.
