Great Mini-Truck Survivor: 1991 Mazda B2600i Extended Cab

For a while, I was admittedly not a fan of mini-pickup trucks; I thought, "If you're going to buy a min-truck, why not just buy a full-size pickup?" Then, about nine months ago, I saw an episode of Roadkill where co-host Mike Finnegan scooped up a 1968 Datsun 520 mini-truck. After watching that truck and another episode of Roadkill with the Mazdarati (a 1974 Mazda Rotary pickup with an Oldsmobile 455 in its pickup bed), I became a converted fan of mini-trucks. A newer example of a mini-truck is this 1991 Mazda B2600i extended cab, a rare truck in any condition today; this particular truck is in fairly decent condition. Find it here on eBay in Blackwood, New Jersey, with no bids.

Initially introduced in 1961, the B-Series pickup truck was redesigned in 1985; sold as the Proceed in its home market, Mazda marketed it as the B-series. This B-Series is a 1991 B-2600i extended cab model, which is hardly seen on the road today due to many owners running them into the ground. There is some surface rust on the front and rear bumpers, but the rust has not gone completely through. There are some minor dings and dents in the truck, but that should be expected for a 26-year old truck. The factory SE-5 graphics are in good shape, as are the SE-5 wheels, though the tires may need to be replaced soon (there's only 80% of the tread left). I also dig the bubble hood, which gives the truck a mature look.

As previously mentioned, this B2600i has the buldged hood, which signifies that this truck has the 2.6L Mazda G6 I4 instead of the Mitsubishi G54B I4. Rated at 121 horsepower and 149 lb-ft of torque, the G6 had 19 more horsepower and 3 more ft-lbs of torque than the Mitsubishi-sourced G54B. Backed by the coveted 5-speed manual transmission, the truck has 157,000 miles and according to the seller "starts right up without smoking or knocking" and "pulls like a small train". Unfortunately, this truck is two-wheel drive over the (personally) preferred four-wheel drive, but irregardless, this truck would be a perfect daily driver or parts hauler.

Inside, the interior of this truck is in great shape, with nary a tear or crack in any surface. Being an extended-cab, the truck has two full-size front seats and mall jump seats in the rear. The center console is from a Ford Explorer, but it is not hard mounted, so if the new owner wants to remove it at any point, he or she can. All of the interior equipment works like new and is the original OEM equipment. The carpet could use a vacuuming and some minor detailing, but at this point I'm nitpicking. Overall, this B2600i is a fairly-nice truck, and would be a perfect daily driver and or a parts hauler. What are your thoughts on this mostly-original B2600i extended-cab?
